Simple Formula for Success in 2017

I was reading a few months ago and discovered this little formula for success. I wish I could remember which book and author I gleaned it from. If you know then please leave the author’s name in the comments section. Here is the formula: “You must first have the knowledge of your power; second, the courage to dare; third, the faith to do.”

What is it that you have thought about doing, but for some reason have resisted doing? Is it change careers? Write that book? Be more loving? Maybe you have made New Year’s resolutions before and they did not pan out. Or maybe you heard a sermon at church or encouraging word, yet you still find yourself in the same place that you were before.

Whenever, I get stuck I remind myself of that simple formula. Let’s break it down to understand what it means. “You must first have the knowledge of your power;” This statement is rich with ideas and truths. Often people say that they are tired and they do not have the energy. Bob Proctor says, “Nobody gets energy. We release energy.” Where then does it come from? Our desire in our heart. God tells us in 2 Peter 1:3:

that His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”

I understand that feeling more than you may know, because most of my life I lived that way. I hit the wall and through God’s help was able to break through. I write about this in new free book coming out on March 6th called The Philippians 4:8 Game Plan. If we can transform our thoughts then we open a world of possibilities, that is always available to us.

The last statement is: “Third, the faith to do.” It is the faith to envision the possibilities of your dreams into a reality. Often we brush aside dreams and ideas as fool’s gold, but the truth is that every thing that is created must start with an idea. There are no over-night sensations. Faith sees the trouble in the journey and presses on through the difficult passage. Faith realizes the power and possesses the courage to do.

I believe that if you remember this simple formula that your 2017 will be different than your 2016.

God Bless,

  1. “through our knowledge of Him” seems like a simple statement yet is loaded and missed by too many of us. A good test would be for us to list out how we would answer the question, “What do I know of Him?”
